Speak Out for Kids! October 20, 2007

SPEAK OUT FOR KIDS  was an historic, interactive community gathering where citizens of Henderson County helped set our community's priorities so that every child in this community can be safe, healthy and well educated.

More than 280 residents from all over Henderson County gathered at Speak Out for Kids to create an agenda to ensure that children in our community are health, safe and educated.  Over the course of this day-long forum, participants discussed their vision for the future for children and then prioritized actions to allow the vision for children to come true.

Speak Out for Kids was convened by the United Agenda for Children, a coalition of leaders in Henderson County who work on behalf of children.  The Children and Family Resource Center has been the lead agency helping to organize this initiative with technical assistance from the Lee Institute in Charlotte, NC.
